Top Tips: How To Word My Thank You Cards

Saying thank you to everyone who sent you gifts is a very important part of your wedding. You will be glad to know that Wedding Thank You Cards are the final piece of your wedding stationery suite!! So what do you need to say?

Each thank you card should be personal. There is no strict format for wording so long as you address the guest by name, express your gratitude, make specific reference to their gift e.g we think of you every time we use our crystal glasses and finally thank them for sharing your special day. In terms of monetory gifts, thank your guest without mentioning the specific amount.

When to send my Thank You Cards

Timing is important and you should send your thank you cards no more than 2 months after the wedding.

Dear Stacey,

Joe and I would like to thank you for your support and encouragement throughout our engagement, planning the wedding and being there for us on our special day. It has meant so much to us. Having you by my side, keeping me calm just makes you the perfect bridesmaid any bride could wish for!

Quick tips

  1. Make sure to take note of gifts received in a gift list as you open them. This will save confusion later. You could use an online gift tracker such as the one offered by Moposa.
  2. Save yourself some time and buy your thank you cards when you are purchasing your invitations. That way you can match them to your invitation suite. To view a full catalogue and shop matching wedding stationery suites on Appleberry Press click here.
