Styled Shoot: La La Land
I’m not sure where to even start with this La La Land inspired styled shoot, where LA was brought to Dublin.
La La Land brought old Hollywood musicals back in trend and we are embracing the ultimate romance and lyrical story of love that it delivers. A mix of both retro, vintage and eclectic details mixed with, dancing, love, music and romance, like you are stepping into a musical and we are just swooning over it.
If you’re seeking La La Land wedding theme inspiration, start here...
Like many others around the world, I have been mesmerised by La La Land since first watching the movie. We got together a team of like-minded creatives who were eager to recreate the La La Land vibes and transform them into a unique and striking wedding style. - Olga Hogan
And of course, it wouldn’t have a true La la land feel without some dancing.
When Olga approached us about working with her for this shoot we were straight onto Pinterest trying to find some inspiration for the stationery. The main inspiration came from the observatory scene which was set on a hill over LA as the sun was setting. The stunning purple sunset was the main element used as the background of the invitation.
As the main reference to the film, we used a colour palette of vibrant prime colours — purples, blues, bright greens, reds, oranges, and yellows.
We stuck to bold saturated happy colours which ties in with the movie theme. Star constellations were added throughout the invite to reflect the observatory. The final piece added was the happy dancing couple on the front of the gatefold invitation. We then carried through the theme with different illustrations of the couple onto other elements of the stationery including the table numbers and table plan. We just love how fun this invitation suite is.
“We stumbled on a view that’s tailor-made for two.”
This styled shoot took place at The Odeon Bar in the heart of Dublin's city centre with the help of the amazing creative team.
Finally, we couldn't have a La La Land styled shoot without a piano scene. This really helps to capture the retro romance of the shoot and brings the romantic flair of La La Land alive.
“Here’s to the ones who dream, foolish as they may seem. Here’s to the hearts that ache; here’s to the mess we make.”
